Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale Community College athletics department and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee hosted "Pink Zone Night" during the men's and women's home games on Tuesday, February 7th against Passaic County College.
Student Life and Activities sponsored the VIP lounge where clubs and organizations were welcome to eat and engage in the festivities while promoting breast cancer awareness.
The WBCA Pink Zone, or Play 4Kay, initiative is a global, unified effort for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.
Pink Zone night contributes valuable resources and awareness to the second leading cause of death for all women and the leading overall cause of cancer death in women between the ages of 20-59. In the United States, breast cancer is expected to be newly diagnosed every three minutes, and a woman will die from breast cancer every 13 minutes.
