Garden State Athletic Conference - Track and Field


Section I - Regular Season Play
A.) If facilities are available, conference teams may compete
in dual or triangular meets.
B.) Encourage women to compete against women.


Section II - Rules
A.) Current N.J.C.A.A. Eligibility Rules will apply.


Section III - Regulations and Procedures
A.) Certified Officials will be employed by host college as: (1) Clerk of course, head starter, head timer, finish line judge.(2) Head field judge in all field events as stated in N.J.C.A.A. guide. (3) Games committee will consist of four (4) persons:
  • Meet Referee (Track Official)
  • Meet Director
  • Athletic Director
  • G.S.A.C. Coach

(4) Seeding Meeting:
1. All scratches will be taken first.
2. All additions will be added if the competitor is already entered in the meet.
3. If a coach is absent from or late to the meeting, he may scratch but not add to events – prior telephone scratches and adds will be acceptable.
4. All additional entries must be added in writing prior to the seeding meeting.


Section IV - Conference Championship

A.) Scoring - According to current NCAA Rules.
B.) Each team limited to three (3) persons per event.
C.) Each team limited to one relay team per school per event.
D.) Order of events with trials will follow the NCAA Track & Field Rule Book. This order may be amended, as entries warrant, at the coaches meeting prior to the meet.


Section V - Coach of the Year
The Coach of the winning GSAC team will be named G.S.A.C. Coach of the Year. The Assistant Coaches of the winning team will be named GSAC Coaching Staff of the Year.
