            <title>[Men's Outdoor Track &amp; Field] THADDEUS STEVENS COLLEGE THROWERS TAKE FIRST AND SECOND AT ...</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;&quot;&gt;COLUMBIA, MD - Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology&amp;#39;s Track and Field team excelled at the National Junior College Athletic Associations National Track and Field Meet held at Howard County Community College in Columbia, MD.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;&quot;&gt;Joel Leicy (Bird-in-Hand, PA) took the gold in the javelin with a distance of 52.77m and Michael LoPresti (Dover, PA) took the silver also in the javelin with a distance of 52.67m. Jamel Fortson (Mt. Union, PA) also took the silver in the discus with a distance of 43.19 m. Each of these men also attained All-American status with there finishing place.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Kelsey Haldeman (Pine Grove, PA) took 6th place overall in hammer with a distance of 32.63m.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Connor Whitman (Minersville, PA) took 5th overall in the Decathalon.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) is the governing body of two-year college athletics, offering endless athletic and academic opportunities to college students. It is the second largest national intercollegiate athletic organization in the United States with over 500 member schools in 43 states. Each year over 50,000 student-athletes compete in one of 28 different sports and the organization sponsors 48 national championship events and nine football bowl games each year. Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology is Pennsylvania&amp;#39;s only state-owned, two-year college of technology.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In 2011 and 2012, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology was recognized by the Aspen Institute, an independent research panel, as one of the top 120 two-year colleges in the country.             <title>[Men's Outdoor Track &amp; Field] Thaddeus Stevens Finishes Competition Schedule With Two More ...</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;LOCK HAVEN, PA &lt;/strong&gt;-&amp;nbsp;The Thaddeus Stevens College Track &amp;amp; Field Team concluded the 2013 Invitational Competition Schedule&amp;nbsp;at the Lock Haven University Qualifier. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Travis Hughes had a personal best in the Hammer throw of 38.03m and Kyle Sipe also had a personal best in the 800m with 2:04.78fat. Both Travis and Kyle have now met&amp;nbsp;NJCAAIII Qualifying Standards for these events.&amp;nbsp; Travis and Kyle&amp;nbsp;complete the team of&amp;nbsp;Joel Leicy, Conner Whitman,&amp;nbsp;Alberto Santos, Michael LoPresti, and Kelsey Haldeman representing the College &amp;nbsp;at the NJCAA III National Championships on May 9 through May 11.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Other noted Performances included:&lt;br /&gt;Liz Hornberger - 800m - 2:46.81fat&lt;br /&gt;Joel Liecy - Javelin - 50.13m - 5th&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <title>[Men's Outdoor Track &amp; Field] Thaddeus Stevens Adds More Track and Field National Qualifiers</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;GETTYSBURG, Pa&lt;/strong&gt;. -&amp;nbsp;The Thaddeus Stevens College Track &amp;amp; Field Team&amp;nbsp;participated Saturday in the&amp;nbsp;Gettysburg College&amp;nbsp;Mason Dixon Invitational.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Teams competing included Mary Washington; Gettysburg;&amp;nbsp;Frostburg State; Hagerstown CC; Dickinson; Albright; Hood; Catholic; Stevenson; McDaniel; Thaddeus Stevens; Canisius College; Frostburg State Alumni and Hagerstown Athletic Club.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Two Stevens throwers earned spots at Nationals based on their performances on Saturday. These students were:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Jamel Fortson who finished&amp;nbsp;5th in Discus with a distance of 39.58m.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Kelsey Haldeman who finished&amp;nbsp;7th in Shot Putwith a distance of&amp;nbsp;9.97m.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;Other top performances for Thaddeus Stevens team members included:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;3rd - Javelin - 45.29m - Michael LoPresti&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;9th - Hammer - 35.46m - Travis Hughes&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Two team members also had personal best perfomances on Saturday:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Discus - 33.06m - Ronald Tucker&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Liz Hornberger Mile - 6:44.86&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;The TSCT Track &amp;amp; Field team will next comete at Lock Haven University this Saturday, April 27.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;Media, Pa - Thaddeus Stevens College&amp;#39;s Michael LoPresti has been named Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office this afternoon.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;LoPresti, a freshmen thrower from Dover, Pa. finished first in the&amp;nbsp;javelin and discus with a throws of 48.68m in the javelin and&amp;nbsp;37.23m in the discus&amp;nbsp;at the Millersville University&amp;nbsp;Metric on Saturday 4/6/13. These distances also qualfied him to compete in nationals!&lt;/p&gt;&amp;nbsp;</description>

            <title>[Men's Outdoor Track &amp; Field] Thaddeus Stevens College's LoPresti Qualifies for Nationals</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;MILLERSVILLE, Pa.&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;- Another Thaddeus Stevens College Track and Field member qualified for Nationals today at the Annual Millersville University Metrics. &amp;nbsp;Michael LoPresti (Dover, PA) qualified in both the javelin throw with a distance of 48.68m and the discus throw with a distance of 39.60m. LoPresti now joins Connor Whitman (Minersville, PA) in Hurdles and Joel Leicy (Bird in Hand, PA) - Javelin as National qualifiers for TSCT.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The team competed at the Millersville University Metric,&amp;nbsp;which included teams from 12 PSAC and DII Universities, 6 DIII Colleges,&amp;nbsp;Junior College and Clubs.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Other track and field members of note on Saturday include:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Joel Leicy - Javelin - 49.81m (11th overall)&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Conner Whitman - 400 hurdles - &amp;nbsp;59.13fat (7th overall)&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Richard Hall - 800m - 2:10.84fat and&amp;nbsp;1500m - 4:18.99fat&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Christy Steed - 1500m - 5:12.28fat&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Kyle Sipe - 800m - 2:09.72&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#8203;The Track and Field team will travel to Messiah College on Saturday, April 13 for their next meet.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;###&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;SELINSGROVE, Pa.&lt;/strong&gt; -&amp;nbsp;&lt;span style=&quot;&quot;&gt;The Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology 2013 Outdoor Track and Field season began today at Susquehanna University at the Crusader Invitational Classic. &amp;nbsp;Teams participating in this event included Bucknell University, Frostburg State, Juniata College, Brockport State, Gettysburg College, Penn State Track and Field Club, Bloomsburg University, Thaddeus Stevens College and host Susquehanna University.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Two Bulldogs left Susquehanna today as NJCAA DIII National qualifiers. Connor Whitman (Minersville, PA) earned a National berth by finishing 1st in the Men&amp;#39;s 400 hurdles with a time of 59.30fat.             <title>[Men's Outdoor Track &amp; Field] Bergen's Dlugozima Named All-American</title>

            <description>&lt;div&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;PARAMUS, NJ &lt;/STRONG&gt;- Tomas Dlugozima of Bergen Community College was recently named a First Team All-American, after placing first in the javelin at the NJCAA national chamionships held at Alfred State College.&lt;/div&gt;
&amp;nbsp;
&lt;div&gt;Dlugozima, who&amp;nbsp;broke the school record in the javelin with a throw of 58.40 meters,&amp;nbsp;was also awarded Bergen's Sportsmanship Award for his hard work and dedication to the Bulldog athletic program.&lt;/div&gt;

            <title>[Men's Outdoor Track &amp; Field] Region XIX Well Represented at DIII Track &amp; Field Nationals</title>

            <description>&lt;div&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;ALFRED, NY &lt;/STRONG&gt;- Region XIX was well represented at the recently completed NJCAA Division III Track and Field Nationals, held at Alfred State College.&lt;/div&gt;
&amp;nbsp;
&lt;div&gt;Gloucester County College finished 5th on the men's side and 7th in women's to lead all Region XIX schools.&amp;nbsp; Stevens Tech placed 8th in men's, while Bergen Community College finished 15th in men's and 21st in women's and Middlesex County College was 19th in men's and 18th in the women's competition.&lt;/div&gt;
&amp;nbsp;
&lt;div&gt;Individually, Gloucester's Ozzie Huerta won the men's track athlete of the meet award, winning three national championships.&amp;nbsp; Huerta set new meet records in the 5,000 (15:10.92), and the 3,000 steeplechase (9:28.34) along with winning the 10,000.&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;div&gt;On top of Huerta's two meet records, Christina Lees of Gloucester set a meet record in the pole vault with a winning height of 3.18 m.&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;div&gt;Joe Kalnas of Gloucester was honored as assistant coach of the year.&lt;/div&gt;
&amp;nbsp;
&lt;div&gt;Harper College (IL) captured both the men's and women's national championships.&lt;/div&gt;
