Indoor Track

The Operating Code will govern competition for Indoor Track in Region XV, Region XIX, and XX.


Section A - DATE

The District Meet will be held one week prior to the N.J.C.A.A. National Championships. The meet will begin at 12 noon, or at a time determined by the host college.

  1. Coaches meeting to be held one hour prior to the start of the first event.
  2. Site to be decided each year at the Spring Meeting.


Section B - SITE
  1. Facilities to include high jump, shot put, long jump, triple jump, and pole vault.
  2. Suggested order of events:
      a. All field events to start as soon as possible with the existing facilities.
      b. Order of running events.

      55M HH Final
      55M Dash Final
      400M Dash Final
      800M Run Final
      300M Dash Final
      1000M Run Final
      3000M Run Final
      1600M Relay Final

      Distances and/or events may be changed when considering the site selection in order to insure the safety of participants. NOTE: The 55M dash and the 55M HH will have a two-section final with the top two from the semi-final heats competing for the first four places, and the others competing for the remaining places. All other running events will be contested on time with the following staggers:
      600 - Full turn stagger - four in a section
      300 - Full turn stagger - four in a section
      800 & 1000 - Arc start - six seeded section
      4 x 400 - Full turn stagger - 4 teams in section


Section C - OFFICIALS
  1. Qualified adults will be employed by the host college as:
      a. Clerk, Starter/Referee, Head Timer, Head Final Judge.
      b. Head Field Judge in all field events as stated in NCAA Guide.


Section D - ELIGIBILITY
  1. Current NJCAA Rules will apply.


Section E - RULES
  1. Current NCAA Rules will apply.
  2. In case of large numbers of entries in circle races, the GAMES COMMITTEE WILL HAVE THE RIGHT OF CREATING SectionS and seeding entries.
  3. Scoring - 6 places (10-8-6-4-2-1) for all events, including relays.
  4. Each team limited to three (3) people per event.
  5. Each team limited to one (1) relay team per college.
  6. Any athlete scratching from an event must also scratch from all subsequent events.
  7. Order of events to be distributed by January 20th.


Section F - ENTRY FEES
$25.00 per team PLUS a fee per entrant (include men and women.) This amount will be derived by dividing the total cost of the meet minus the $25.00 entry fees by the total number of entrants on your entry form.

Third Place - Bronze Medal
An athlete in any contest involving a Region XIX College who is ejected for violent conduct for fighting shall not be allowed to participate in the next played contest as determined by the schedule of that institution.If this ejection occurs in the last contest of a given season, the suspension shall be in effect the first regular game of the player's next season. In the event of any player/coach ejection, an ejection report must be filed with the Region Director.
