COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. - The December 2013 issue of the NJCAA Review highlights Northampton's "Orange Out" event during the District H Volleyball match on November 2nd at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
Michael Teague, NJCAA Assistant Media Relations Director, authored an article titled "Beyond X's and O's" that details Northampton's use of marketing and promotions, specifically for their championship volleyball match and Iowa Western's use of Twitter by their athletic teams.
"I appreciate the NJCAA and Mr. Teague looking at other aspects of programs, it's very rewarding to know that others see what we are doing and embrace it," remarked Director of Athletics Troy Tucker, "the Orange Out was a college-wide event that gained momentum throughout the week and culminated with over 700 fans attending the volleyball match, which made for a very special day for the student-athletes involved."

COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. - Northampton volleyball player Emily Koehler has been named to the Division III Volleyball All-American team, as announced by the NJCAA.
Koehler, who was named to the second team, was the Region XIX Player of the Year, First Team All-EPAC, a Region XIX All-Tournament selection and a member of the NJCAA All-Tournament Team.
A freshman from Moore Township, PA, Koehler set a Northampton single-season record for kills (321) and ranked 4th in the country in hitting percentage.
Koehler helped lead Northampton to a 35-1 overall record and a 5th place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament, where they went 2-1.
Media, Pa- Northampton Community College's Emily Koehler has been named Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office this afternoon.
Koehler a freshmen from Moore Township, Pa. helped lead the Spartans to a 5th place finish at the NJCAA national tournament last week. She led her team to a 2-1 record during the tournament in which she totaled 43 kills and 41 digs. The spartans finished the season with a 35-1 overall record.
ROCHESTER, Mn. - The Northampton Volleyball team went 2-1 at the NJCAA National Tournament, to finish in 5th and end the season with an overall record of 35-1.
Northampton, seeded 7th, opened the tournament with a 3-0 loss to 2nd seeded Central Lakes College (MN) and then responded with a 3-1 victory over 6th seeded Montgomery College (MD) and a 3-2 victory over 4th seeded Eastfield College (TX).
The 5th place finish is the highest ever for a District H team.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's volleyball team advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament with a 3-1 victory over Sandhills Community College in the District H championship game on Satuday afternoon.
Playing in front of over 700 orange-clad, raucous fans, the Spartans used 18 kills from Barbara Dimon (Pine Grove) and Region XIX Player of the Year Emily Koehler had 13 kills and 16 digs as the Spartans advanced to their first-ever national tournament.
Northampton (33-0), will now wait to find out their seed for the national tournament which is set for November 15 and 16 in Rochester, Minnesota.
